Das erste Mal aufmerksam auf den aus Finnland stammenden Produzenten und DJ Tomas Björkman alias Deymare auf der Website Deep Rhythms, für deren Podcastreihe er einen Beitrag geleistet hat. Das war 2009. Seit dieser Zeit hat man ihn eigene Platten auf Boe Recordings und Morris Audio City Sport veröffentlichen sehen. Und als Remixer, unter anderem für Lady Blacktronika, war er auch unterwegs. Demnächst wird’s auch Tracks von ihm auf dem britischen Imprint Quintessentials geben. Mit Sicherheit ein Künstler, den man im Auge behalten sollte.
1. Dear Tomas, would you like to introduce yourself?
Hello, I Live in Finland, proud father of 2 boys and I’m a genuin musiclover , especially elctronic music, I can’t imagine living without music.
2. When did your initial music spark ignite?
In my childhood it was hard rock/heavy metal I listened to, and then in 90-91 sometimes i heard
real house/techno music the first time and was hooked, a couple of years forward and i took my first steps in the world of music production & djing, so i guess my spark ignited around that time.
3. Who and what is your most important influence?
Well the chicago/detroit stuff has of course been an ifluence to me aswell as jazz/funk even if i didn’t grew up listening to that music, but I can’t really say any names as I get infuenced by so much different things and artists.
4. How would you describe your music to a deaf person?
If the person never had heard music it could get really hard explaing it and my music varies a bit from the soulful jazzy stuff to deep more minimal style deep, slow housemusic maybe.
5. Do you spin records in a club on a regular basis?
No, I concentrate on the musicproduction now, with family, own house, etc. A fulltime job to take care of i can’t imagine how i would have time for it all so. But still love to do a little bit of djing now and then.
6. What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on some remixes aswell as new tracks, The recent release for me was “Some More”, my second ep for “Morris Audio Citysport”.
7. What are your future plans?
Just makin the music i love to make , having some new releases out on labels i’ve been wanting to work with for a long time.
