Nach wiederum einer einwöchigen Pause geht die Guest Mix-Reihe auf keep-it-deep in eine weitere Runde. Den heutigen Mix serviert Rob Heenan aus Waterford, einer kleinen Stadt im Südosten Irlands. Waterford ist die erste Stadt auf der grünen Insel, die diesen Titel im Namen führen durfte. Mit Dublin wurde sie im Hochmittelalter zur Königsstadt erklärt und unterstand unmittelbar der englischen Krone, und von Beginn des 18. Jahrhunderts an zählte sie zu den wichtigsten Handesl- und Industriestädten des Landes. Da es hier jedoch um die Musik geht, unterbreche ich die oberflächlich historischen Ausführungen und übergebe Wort und Plattenteller an Rob Heenan:

2. When did your initial music spark ignite?
Suppose I’ve been playing records for over 10 years now, bedroom DJ…plus I get the odd few gigs around my town…have warmed-up for some international guests like DJ Deep, Charles Webster, Bittersuite and a few others.. have played for Re:Publik (Waterford) numerous ocassions for local nites…
3. Who and what was your most important influence and who / what is it nowadays?
Started listening to house back in the late 90’s….I was converted when I first witnessed the house music that was being played @ Sweat in Sir Henrys, Cork…’98 I think it was..havent really looked back since…big respect to Greg Dowling & Shane Johnson…resident DJ’s there for over 13 years…
4. How would you describe your own style?
Massive fan of the old deep house sound also lovin the deep house coming out of germany, detroit, chicago, etc…there really is some mind blowing stuff out there at the moment…
5. Do you produce your own tracks? If so, what are you currently working on?
Have started making my own music, using ableton live….have just finished a track with a mate called Movin’ On…
6. What are your future plans?
Keep an eye out for Soul Control 🙂
