“The first FACT mix that Ital submitted captured this approach to a tee, mixed live from a combination of records, mp3s and YouTube footage…” – Dieser Satz treibt mich schon seit Tagen um und lässt mich nicht in Ruhe. Er bereitet mir über ein normales Kopfzerbrechen hinaus schlaflose Nächte.

Das soll ab heute jedoch ein Ende haben. Ich will meinen Frieden schliessen mit Fact, dem DJ und Produzenten sowie seinem Mixtape. Dies gelang mir am besten, in dem ich selbst zur Tat überschritt, mich aktiv und bewusst mit dem Thema “Mixtape” auseinander setzte und diesem eine Ausgabe der Lost Tracks-Reihe widme. Im Folgenden also der persönlichen “FACT Mix” ganz aus “YouTube footage”, einige all time classics, und – vielleicht – das eine oder andere Schmankerl zum entdecken. Entsprechend dieser Vorgehensweise ist das Ergebnis allerdings vielmehr Compilation und Tape, als ein kontinuierlicher Mix.

Doch vielleicht erinnert sich der / die eine oder andere noch an die Website / Internetplattform Muxtape [Muxtape: Mixtapes tauschen 2.0]. Sie war angelehnt am Vorbild des klassischen (Tape Deck) Mixtape, ermöglichte es, Songs in der gewünschten Spielabfolge hochzuladen, verhinderte jedoch Downloads. Doch nun meine persönliche Trackauswahl:

English (short) version: I’ve never been so shocked at a news story when I read that a certain dj and producer made use of YouTube footage to compile and record an exclusive podcast for a music magazine. But in the end, I want to resolve my internal conflict, make peace with the mag and the artist and never come back to it. In order to process this internal conflict, I dedicate an edition of this blog’s “Lost Tracks”-series to it and arranged some tracks that mean a lot to me – YouTube footage only – to provide you with a kind of mixtape.
