Das deutsch-schweizerische Label Foul & Sunk macht das halbe Dutzend voll und zelebriert den Anbruch der dunklen Jahreszeit mit einer EP, deren drei Stücke für Entspannung, Energie und Wohlbefinden auf den Tanzflächen sorgen werden.
Produziert hat sei der Brasilianer Ney Faustini. Geboren und aufgewachsen in der Millionenmetropole Sao Paolo, beginnt Faustini seine Musikbiographie mit schnellen und gebrochenen Beats, denn als DJ und Produzent hat er sich zunächst dem Drum and Bass verschrieben.
Vielleicht ist es die britische Bassmusik, vielleicht ist es aber auch der endlose Bilick über die Sao Paolo und den atlantischen Ozean, die ihm als Inspirationsquelle dienen für die locker verwobenen, subtilen Flächensounds, mit denen er den Hintergrund seiner drei Stücke, “Sleepless“, “The Name Of The Game” und “No More Chances” ausgestaltet?
Sie verleihen der EP einen meditativen Charakter, den Faustini mit tänzelnder Percussion im Vordergrund (“No More Chances”), mit warmen Piano Keys und Orgel Pads im Hintergrund (“The Name Of The Game”) verstärkt. Die “Sleepless EP” beinhaltet jedoch keineswegs Kopftanzmusik. Durch alle drei Stücke fließt ein organischer Bassgroove, der mit pulsierendem Druck den Energiekreislauf anregt. Im Titeltrack kommt er zu seiner vollen Entfaltung und belegt deutlich das Motto von Foul & Sunk: Quality music for your dancefloor.

Ney Faustini completes the half-dozen on Foul & Sunk, celebrating the dawn of the dark season with an EP whose three pieces will provide relaxation, energy and joy on the dance floors. Born and raised in the Brazilian metropolis of Sao Paolo, Faustini begins his biography with fast music and broken beats, before his path led him to deep, bouncing house music. Maybe it’s the British bass music, maybe it’s the endless view over his city to the Atlantic Ocean that he used as a source of inspiration for this loosely woven, barely tangible tapestry of sound, that lines the background of his three pieces “Sleepless”, “The Name Of The Game “and” No More Chances”.
This giving the EP its meditative character, Faustini reinforces it all with prancing percussion on “No More Chances”, as well as warm piano and organ keys in the background of “The Name of the Game”. But the “Sleepless EP” doesn’t limit itself to head dance music: an organic bass groove flows through all three pieces, stimulating our energy cycle with pulsating pressure. This comes to its full potential in the eponymous title track, and is truly the motto of Foul & Sunk: Quality music for your dancefloor.
